KARL LIKES LYONEL FEININGER
Lyonel Feininger is an American artist who lived most of his life in Germany,famous for his early satirical cartoons, comic strips, hand-made wood figures and little-known photographs, to his emblematic depictions of carnival scenes, and architecture and seascapes. During his career, Feininger worked as an illustrator for the Chicago Tribune; in Paris, he discovered Cubism; and in Weimar, he taught at the Bauhaus school, before returning to his native New York City. A talented violinist and composer, he often compared his art to music.
